Each summer the EMCS Society hires a Summer Youth Engagement Coordinator to facilitate FOR youth BY youth events, grassroots community action, and participation in regional decision-making. The objective of Youth For Sooke is to initiate and organize new events and initiatives for youth in our region.  See what's happening now HERE.

The Play & Learn Summer Camp is a free, 4-week academic intervention camp for approximately 25 children ages 6-9 years old. Now in its 14th year, this successful camp continues to deliver great results and happy campers.

Sooke and Westshore Literacy Program supports literacy initiatives in both regions such as Books for Breakfast, Story Walks, Summer reading program, and the Book Bin program. 

Our goal is for all children to have books in the home and to have heard 1000 books by age 5.

The Makerspace is an initiative that allows the local community to access the wealth of equipment available at EMCS after school hours.

Gain access to a woodshop, sewing and textiles equipment, 3D printers, CNC, metal plasma cutter, and coming soon - a Digital Arts Lab.

Take your innovation to the next level at Sooke Makerspace!

The Media Arts Experience provides a learning enhancement opportunity for students to build media and computer literacy through expressive creative projects, working with various hardware and software in our Mac-based Creative Lab.

Students have the opportunity to earn WEX credit!
