Media Arts Experience

The Media Arts Creator Program provides an opportunity for students to build media and computer literacy through expressive creative projects, working with various hardware and software in our Mac-based Creative Lab.

Through the planning, production and publishing of an arts & culture podcast, students learn a variety of technical and people skills that will help them prepare for further study and/or work in the media arts.

Brainstorming episode ideas
Collaborating with others
Plan and research topics
Prepare and conduct interviews
Record and edit segments
Upload and publish podcast episodes to major platforms

Content Creation

Create visual graphics
Record, edit and publish videos to YouTube and social media
Learn safe and effective social media promotional skills
Special workshops with influencers and industry professionals

Incentive

Build a portfolio! Participants will publish at least 3 hour-long audio and/or video podcasts
Earn Credit! Work experience credit applies.
Participants receive a Media Arts Experience certificate from EMCS Society

Meet Your Mentor

Brian James has hosted and produced a successful podcast for the last seven years which receives over 10K views a month on YouTube, and has over 200K listens on iTunes and Spotify. He will meet with participants weekly after school and organize any additional workshops.
