1000×5 Improves Early Literacy Development In The Capital Region

Our goal is for all children to have books in the home and to have heard 1000 books by age 5.

For children’s literacy, listening to books as a baby and toddler is one of the most important activities that a child will ever do.

Handling books, listening to stories and enjoying time spent with an important adult builds language, imagination, and many important connections in the developing brain.

Got Books?

We rely on donations of books for babies and preschoolers from members of the community.

If you have books for children under the age of 5 that you no longer need, why not consider donating them to us?

We need books in good used condition.

We will ensure that your books continue to put smiles on children all over the Capital Region.

Sooke Drop off - EMCS Society Office at 6218 Sooke Road (inside EMCS) between 9am and 2pm.

Westshore - Get in touch with us to arrange a drop off.

Thank you to our donors!
