Rock Chops Band Camp

Spark creativity, inspire collaboration and gain confidence by learning new songs and jamming in a rock band!

Every day participants will explore music theory and technique, songwriting, improvising and jamming in a rock band. Students will bring songs (cover songs or originals) they want to work on and put the theory into practice by rocking out.
We've got some great guest instructors lined up for 1-on-1 coaching and will have a bunch of instruments and effects available to explore different sonic textures.

I started playing guitar after I heard the car crash in Kiss' Detroit Rock City and thought that if a guitar could make those sounds, I gotta learn it!

It didn't take me long to figure out that those sounds weren't actually made by a guitar, but by that time I was already hooked.

I played in multiple bands throughout highschool and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. I dropped out of music school, but never dropped music. Over the decades, music has given me an outlet for my creativity and a way to connect and collaborate with others. Rock & Roll truly saved my soul.

It's been a longtime dream to facilitate a youth rock camp and I'm glad it's happening in Sooke. I grew up in a small town like Sooke and know firsthand the struggles facing kids who don't fit into conventional programs. Some of us are just born to rock.
