Rock Chops Band Camp
One-week half-day summer camp for teens aged 12-18.
Spark creativity, inspire collaboration and gain confidence by learning new songs and jamming in a rock band!
Our 2023 Summer Camp was a great success! To stay informed about upcoming programs please join the Rock Chops Facebook page.
This is a one-week, half-day camp for experienced beginner and intermediate players. Each day students will spend time learning new repertoire, practicing rhythm, singing, and jamming together. Students will learn the art of playing in a band through listening, responding, and improvising.
The camp will run every day from 1-4pm, Monday July 17 - Friday July 21. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments, and we will have amps, PA and drum kit set up.
Thanks to the core group of talented young musicians who signed up early, we're now able to open up registration to any teen regardless of experience. To register, please contact Barb at the EMCS office to arrange payment: 250-642-6371.
Any questions about the program can be directed to Brian firstname.lastname@example.org

I started playing guitar after I heard the car crash in Kiss' Detroit Rock City and thought that if a guitar could make those sounds, I gotta learn it!
It didn't take me long to figure out that those sounds weren't actually made by a guitar, but by that time I was already hooked.
I played in multiple bands throughout highschool and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. I dropped out of music school, but never dropped music. Over the decades, music has given me an outlet for my creativity and a way to connect and collaborate with others. Rock & Roll truly saved my soul.
It's been a longtime dream to facilitate a youth rock camp and I'm glad it's happening in Sooke. I grew up in a small town like Sooke and know firsthand the struggles facing kids who don't fit into conventional programs. Some of us are just born to rock.
