Print making with colorful bubbles, soapy foam prints, art materials & mindfulness of how the senses can either be inspired or un-inspired depending on our sensory needs in that moment. Create with various textures, colour pallets, mixed media, prints, collage, painting, patterns, & more!

Feb 12th: Layered Expressions

In this class we will explore releasing thoughts, feelings, & various self-expressions through layers of colour & texture on canvas.

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find the words to either process or explain what it is we need to express. Allowing for your intuition to choose the materials, the colours, the mark making with the paintbrush, etc. to represent those things needing to be expressed, allowing yourself to trust in the creative process. We will be layering our intuitive choosing of materials on canvas & creating an image of our creative self-expressions.

Feb 19th: Finding What's Already Around: Nature & Upcycled Creativity

A walk in nature often can inspire creativity. Whether a leaf laying on the ground as you pass by, or a special rock you find, a neat looking branch, a footprint in the mud, the way the waves move back and forth while watching the ocean. These moments can offer creative expression; whether it's taking a photo, painting what you see in nature, creating while in nature, utilizing items found from walks thru the woods or along the river, or even items found at home! Junk drawers, recycling bins, all around us provides opportunity to create! In this class we'll create with nature, with items and materials we find around us. Have some interesting materials you're inspired by? Bring it with you! The possibilities are endless with materials we have around us already.

Feb 26th: Focus On The Creative Process

In this class we will learn of further art activities, techniques, & creative expressive inspiration for your personal therapeutic art practice. Allowing space for your creative expressions, noticing mindfully how various art materials either bring inspiration or maybe they don't. Noticing what works best for you. Allowing the image to unfold, instead of placing pressure or worry on what it is you are creating and instead; being present in the moment of creating authentically, intuitively choosing materials. Activities with a focus on calming, grounding, mindfulness, and self-soothing will be provided.
