STEP UP SOOKE!

AUGUST 10 & 11, 2023

Join us to learn about homelessness in Sooke and find out how you can make a difference. Participants will leave with knowledge, empathy, and be empowered with practical skills through a series of hands-on activities throughout the day! The second day of the workshop, participants can volunteer to assemble hygeine kits and prepare a meal for residents of the Hope Centre and Sooke Transition House.

WHO: ANYONE AGE 13+

AUGUST 10th

10am: Guest speaker from Hope Centre

10:30am: Guest speaker from Sooke Transition House
11am: Build a self-defense key chain
12pm: Lunch
1pm - 3pm: Self-defense Workshop

AUGUST 11th

10am: Assemble hygiene kits for Hope Centre and Sooke Transition House
11am: Prepare dinner for the residents of the Hope Centre
12pm: Lunch
1:00 - 3pm: Finish Meal and Deliver
